Client Say
I am Patel Dipakbhai Valjibhai, a farmer lives in Gandhinagar and my farm is at Jodkampa, Village Mudeti, Taluka Idar, Dist. Sabarkantha. I was practicing chemical cultivation of mango orchard but due to high cost of chemical fertilizers and pesticides my production cost was very high and returns were very low. Every year production was being decreased and its cost became so high. Thus chemical practices were not affordable for me to keep this farming for long time. In November 2018, I came to know from my friend about Dr. N.B. Bagwan, Advisor for organic farming. I held telephonic discussion about my chemical farming and he suggests me to join the organic certification project and adopt organic farming. I immediately join the organic farming project and attained all his meetings and demonstration. As 3rd year of organic farming, I observed improvement in soil health, crop health, fruit quality and also increased net production and net profit.

I am practicing chemical farming of Groundnut, Turmeric, Ginger, Dragon Fruit, Vegetables, Pulses and Wheat. But in chemical farming production cost is very high and returns are very low. As per advice of Dr. Bagwan, President, “Health and Nutrition Care Foundation” I started organic farming in 2019 and developed an organic farming group entitled “Sabarkantha Organics”. In this group about 95 farmers are implementing organic farming and I am leader of this group. We got detail knowledge of organic certification by attending farmer’s trainings and demonstrations conducted by HANCF. After three years we got Scope certificate of Organic Status. Now we are selling organic produce through a small shop in Ahmedabad. Demand of our organic products is increased and we are getting three times more price than market price. Thanks to HANCF.

I am, Nakum Lakhaman Mathurdas, resident of Haripar village, Tq. Kalyanpur, Dist. Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat State. I was practicing organic farming since last more than six years but without certification. Due to high cost of individual farmer’s certificate I did not register my farm for certification programme. But in October 2018 I came to know that one NGO namely Health and Nutrition Care Foundation (HANCF), Gandhinagar is helping to farmers for organic certification in ICS form. I and my friends develop one group and as per advice of Dr. Bagwan we registered with APEDA for Certification. HANCF provide guidance and help us as and when we required for implementation and certification of organic farming. After three years, in 2021 we got organic status Scope Certificate. Now we did not sale our groundnut in APMC but produced organic groundnut oil. My friend and I installed one mini oil mill and started oil production. Now I am selling organic groundnut oil @ Rs 3500/15 liters.

I was using chemical fertilizers and pesticides in my farm to increase crop productivity. Initially I got higher productivity but after few years productivity was decreasing year by year. Thus my production cost increased and my net profit decreased. Due to this situation I was very depressed. Under these worst circumstances during 2018, by the grace of God Mr. Chauhan Hitesh from HANCF came in my village for giving knowledge and importance of organic farming. He serenely heard my problem and advises to adopt organic farming to reduce production cost and improve productivity. Thereafter, Dr. N.B. Bagwan Sir visited my organic farm frequently. During his visits he explained detail methodology of organic farming. In this way my concept of organic farming becomes clear and concrete. After three years my organic farm becomes healthy and pests/disease free. Physical, chemical and biological properties of soil are improved. Production cost is reduced and productivity is increased.
